Updating the News feed tab

Updating the News feed tab

Introduction

The News feed tab appears on every Izele page created by a conservation area, organisation or project. This is where pages can share posts from their social media accounts and people can add comments, depending on the page settings.

Changing the posting/commenting settings

  1. Log in to Izele and go to the page that you manage.
  2. Underneath the banner image, click on the Edit page tab and the Organisation information sub-tab.
  3. In the Change post/comment permissions section choose the most suitable option for Who can post and Who can comment. In general, your page will be more popular if you allow anyone to post but if you do not have the time to manage the News feed content then click No-one.

Adding Twitter accounts to appear in your News feed

  1. Log in to Izele and go to the page that you manage.
  2. Underneath the banner image, click on the Edit page tab and the External feeds sub-tab.
  3. Find the section name Linked Twitter accounts.
  4. In the box “Search for Twitter account” type the name of the Twitter account you want to add. Izele will give you a list of possible names, so select the correct one.
  5. If you only want tweets containing the hashtag #izele then click on the Only include posts with the #izele hashtag? clickbox. This is useful if you only want specific tweets to show from a Twitter account, e.g. you can add a personal Twitter account and add #izele if you want it to appear on your Izele page.
  6. The tickbox Pre-fetch the last 20 recent tweets is automatically selected but you can unselect it if required. If selected, Izele will add the latest tweets from the account (it will find the last 20 from the account and then post the direct tweets, ignoring any retweets).
  7. Click on Add account to then add the Twitter account. It should then appear below.
