The Mhlageni and Luhleko communities share bounders and are separated by Great Usuthu river. This community have a high rate of poverty and most homes are headed by children. They totally rely on employment on the nearby Bhunya timber plantation where they earn mere salary. Due to the fact that most of the land is now under the plantation, wetlands are now not spared.
