Nine2lifestyle is a community project that aims to educate communities in the kingdom of Eswatini about conservation and ecotourism. We produce tote bags made out of reused material which are locally produced and our tote bags act as a plastic-free solution.
Agriculture, Natural Resources and Tourism are the major sectors contributing to the economy of Eswatini however the beautiful kingdom is negatively affected by the plastic bag pollution. Plastic bags pollution is both unsightly and a hazard to the environment particularly wildlife and livestock. They take an incredibly long time to break down and when they do, it is in the form of powdery plastic dust which contaminates all life forms including the soil and the water forever. Our tote bags locally produced and act as the plastic-free solution, we aim to reduce the use of plastics bags. For every sale of a bag goes 60% goes to our hike and plant a tree initiative, this initiative aims to educate Emaswati about conservation and promote it.
Every month we chose a mountain we want to summit and while hiking or when we reach the peak we plant a tree where there is clear land. Due to the high level of deforestation in the world, the initiative aims to promote the planting of indigenous trees throughout the country (Eswatini). The project also aims to maintain and restore lost species found in the country for the future generation. Through the lanting of the indigenous plant (trees), the project will raise awareness in promoting biological diversity.
